Miscellaneous business papers, including papers relating to the Alabama claims of the ship Avon as well as other documents relating to the vessel; accounts of the ship Rembrandt and schooner Savannah; accounts and bills pertaining to work on the Hartley Lord residences in Kennebunk and Reading, Mass.; documents and plans regarding the Reading property; and letter books (1857-1886), ledgers, journals, and other materials of Hartley Lord & Co. (1858-1886), and also George Callender and Co. (1849-1857) in which Lord was a partner before forming his own company. Other vessels represented include Florida, Gulf Stream, Hartley, Ocean Star, Regulator, and Windemere.
